We received the results of the scans. Thank the Lord, there doesnt seem to be any additional bleeding or swelling. The bruise and bleeding that she does have are blooming. Like, how a deep bruise on your leg looks small one day, then bigger and darker the next - if that makes any sense. With the blood dispersing, she continues to have much pain - nothing to do but treat the pain and let her body heal with time. Still in PICU to watch closely. May be released late tomorrow, or Tuesday, but recovery at home will take longer, then even once in school, shell still have a ways to go. Im in no hurry - want her to get all the treatment/monitoring she needs. Have been blessed with wonderful doctors and nurses. Have been blessed by wonderful friends who offer and want to help - except I just dont know what to ask of them. But if i think of anything, i know Ive got help. Thankful for Jennys shower, and sisterhood. Thankful for Susan Smith Sullivan, who showed up this morning with breakfast. Thankful for Mr. and Marta Cole, who dropped off a stuffed friend and encouragement. Thankful for Brian Givens- the new assistant principal at CES, who doesnt know us, but already cares for all of the students, and dropped off a steak out gift cert. Thankful for whoever left Katie Beth coloring books/crayons. Thankful for Courtney Jackson Horton, who i knew i could dump kids on at a seconds notice in an emergency. Mostly, thankful that SO MANY are praying for us, and have sent e-mails, texts, messages, posts, etc. to let us know were loved deeply. Thankful for my daughter, who is still able to cry out in pain, and who made it through the night. Beyond it all - thankful for God.
