We saw the sleep and respiratory specialist today and Ella was diagnosed with severe sleep aponea she stopped breathing 85 times over about 4-5 hours sleep she has been put down for urgent tonsil and adenoids removal and at this stage she thankfully doesnt need CPAP however the doctor said the surgery is only effective 50% of the time for complex cases such as cerebral palsy/microcephaly so she will need another study done 3 months after the surgery to decide if she will also need a CPAP machine. So although she has severe aponea its not at the most severe end.
