We were at the Enbridge Line 9 hearing. Rising Tides Amanda Lickers showed how Enbridges own data flagged areas of cracking and pipeline weaknesses where the pipe would have catastrophic ruptures under 740psi. They were asked to do hydrostatic testing and said no, it could damage the pipe yet they are applying to move diluted bitument through at 750-1000psi. Then she showed evidence that Enbridge has never ONCE viewed a treaty regarding this pipeline. It crosses over 18 First Nation territories. The first pipe was without consent as was the approval of phase 1 to reverse flow from Sarnia to Westover. This hearing is technically in violation of Charter Rights, Aboriginal Treaties and International Law which began the crowd chanting, No Line 9, No Line 9.
