Weather Update Fort Kent, Maine & Vicinity 7:50 AM EST | Wednesday, 5 March 2014 Fort Kent had the second coldest night of the year overnight with a low of -25.8°F / -32.1°C recorded at 6:13 AM EST. 1039 millibar high pressure centered north of the Great Lakes will bring mostly sunny skies with a few clouds to the Fort Kent region this Wednesday. It will be a bit warmer under sunny skies today, though another cold night is on tap before moderating temperatures begin to build in as the high pressure moves eastwards Thursday and Friday. Todays high: 10° Tonights low: -15° Northwest winds 8-10 mph with wind chill values as cold as -37° overnight. Thursday, 6 March 2014 Mostly sunny and cold conditions are expected again with a few clouds scattered about as high pressure crests over the region Thursday evening and moves eastwards Friday. However, hope is on the horizon as the Valley will be in the high pressures southerly flow and see moderating temperatures Friday and Saturday. Thursdays high: 15° Thursday nights low: 2° Northwest winds around 8-10 mph in the morning become southerly around 6-8 mph overnight. Wind chill values near -15° possible. Friday, 7 March 2014 High pressure moves eastward allowing warmer air to build into the region. A weak cold front is expected to cross the region Friday into Saturday bringing increasing clouds and a chance for snow showers with little or no accumulation anticipated at present. Further ahead High pressure builds in for the first part of next week, though temperatures will not be as cold as this weeks readings.
