Wednesday... Bible study group party tonight at a Japanese restaurant...will be fun. Ginny is at PT, and I am doing a post before the rains come again... Went grocery shopping this morning at our place ,ShopRite. Amazed at the angst and stress that was exhibited by people, many people actually... language, impolite, self centered, big hurry, impatient... wondered about the root causes...money, holiday stress, angry about life, politics, ...all the above ?? I have a simple approach to shopping(Ginny was with me today). I like to talk to people, ask them how they are doing, hows life? Most will tell you and then thank you for asking. I also have my favorites if I run into them...the guys that keep the store clean...you know, like spill in aisle 10. One always talks with me, always ask him,hows life?. We talked about Christmas and being ready...He said he was ready ! And wished me a Merry Christmas! Another was loading Milk in the organic section. I told him politely that if he was doing eggs( right next to the milk) I would have run full speed into his cart to see what happened! He laughed and said people are angry today...and I agreed, but told him I was going to bash him for the fun of it if he got the eggs. About 10 minutes later he is still at the same location, I had to go back to get something...he sees me and starts laughing...I take my cart ,rev it up to full speed ahead down the dairy aisle to bash him....but put the brakes on as Ginny turned the corner and I saw he was still doing milks.... now everyone was laughing. We are then waiting to get in line to pay, and Ginny decides we need something so I park the cart near the gift card display. Start talking with a lady who is buying $100 gift cards like they are $1(Im sure we are related somehow)....she volunteers that they are for kids that she treats....and adds I hope they do some good with these. I said, yes mam...we can only hope so ! Well, I am engrossed in finding a gift card myself , and she walks away...es back about 3 minutes later with my cart !! She says , I think this is your cart but I took it by mistake ..knew it when I saw the big Ham you bought ! She was laughing also, and I said those things happen...we smiled at each other and knew that all was OK...lucky she did not take this others guys cart,he would have decked her.! Lady down in aisle 6... Laughter is a great remedy it appears. I have fun at the store, even though the bill was near $250. Ginny has to quit eating so much I guess! About an hour to do all our shopping and check out...in that time three store employees stopped and talked with me, mostly about how badly people behave at Holidays. If the pressure is that great , I say skip the thing and learn to enjoy life with friends and family. Good grief, It is a religious celebration of the birth of of our Savior...but for others ,it has turned into a horrific time of gift buying, fancy dinners, pressure at work and home, family contentions.Told one manager, go enjoy life, thank God for all you are blessed with, that is Christmas...and if you can, help one needy person to brighten your outlook....where did we lose the true meaning of this celebration to this extent? I dont know, but I saw things that are in need of change for sure....we need to do better. Have a great day FB friends. Bash an eggs guy for me....if you get the chance, I will send bail money !
