Week 5 results Well this was the hardest yet, only four possible winning teams and 3 of which would be classed by the bookies as outsiders! Luke Dennison and Andy Lee were the only 2 of the remaining 40 people choosing arsenal to beat aston villa which they managed with a convincing 3-0 win. Both remain on 1 life. We now have only 20 people remaining, with only Ross Williamson and Mike Fisher on 2 lives, both leaving it until week 5 to drop any lives, Mike with Burnley and Ross with Sunderland. Burnley drew 0-0 with sunderland, both with opposing picks. Burnley drawing also sent Sean Hermanspahn out of the competition. Last week I mentioned Colin flying the Cadigan flag, I misspoke, in fact his daughter Laura has pipped him here and she is still on 1 life! Newcastle let her and 3 others down, we say goodbye to Shaun Adams and Kay Harris with David Angus down to 1 life. Hull threw away a 2-0 lead here with 73rd and 87th minute goals for Newcastle. Too little to late. Everton were one big shocker for the weekend getting beat at home at crystal palace. Having taken a 9th minute lead they were 3-1 60 minutes later. This let 14 people down, putting 8 people out. Blair minton, although a happy Leicester fan, will be unhappy with this result. We also say goodbye to William McGrath (sorry dad), Colin Cadigan, Colin Thoms (a few dads taking a hiding here), John Thompson, Abdul and Marc Cini. Liverpool done by the mighty hammers, putting out Stu “I should have backed Leicester” Minton, Dave Harris and Marc Ruiter. Micky Willis was let down by the mighty reds, his own team, to drop down to his last life. Fraser Angus, one of few west ham fans I know, taking this opportunity to rub it up a few lads. Man united done again in an 8 goal thriller. Leicester came back from 3-1 down to win 5-3. Some shocking reffing, a mixture of the reds bottling it and unfathomable defending . United not going well at all. 11 were stunned by Tottenham losing 1-0 at home to west brom, putting Belz (at least you beat your boyfriend’s pick, well 1 of 3), Skinny, Paul Faithfull, Anthony Croager and paul mullen out. Looks like Bonnie and Luke will be flying the Christchurch city council flag for at least one more week. These were West Broms first 3 points of the campaign. No one picked any of the remaining 3 fixtures which all ended in draws, QPR and Stoke 2 a piece, Swansea and Southampton in a scoreless draw and the “big two” man city and Chelsea drawing 1-1. Frank Lampard making his mark and scoring against his old club! So 20 remain. If you wish to be off the mailing list let me know. Could be all over in 2 weeks at this rate. Week 6 next with many of the “sure things” already picked! Still to pay, Moir, skinny and Dre. If this isn’t right let me know. Good luck. Cheers Gareth
