Welcome to Chiang Mai ! We flew from Bangkok to the north of Thailand, to a place called Chiang Mai on day 12. We got there late afternoon so we had time to only go to the night market to do some shopping. Day 13 was one of the highlites of the trip for us - we got to see the elephants đđđ up close and to top it off, we got to ride them! The day included an ox ride, a bamboo raft down the river and the best lunch we had had on the whole trip up until that point! (dont forget food is important to several members of my little family - all events are gauged by the quality of the food!!đ±đđ) So that said, this day was a huge success! đ We then ended the day with a climb of 306 steps up to see the Doi Suthep, the oldest temple in the area. And had a wonderful view of the city lights.
