Welcome to “Throw-Away-Thursday”! Yesterday’s Inspirational Message was “I-Won’t-Go-Back-Wednesday”, and as I begin to read the testimonies, as people called or saw me and gave me testimony after testimony, it felt awesome to know, hear, and see, what God is doing and has done, and while those of us who have taken up our proverbial “Crosses” and continue to carry them, no matter how heavy they seem, there are still, oftentimes, some things that try to hold us back; some people, that try to hold us back. Let’s just be real about it, dead weight is dead weight. When something is “dead weight”, it is the thing that we carry around and its “total” weight is on us; no “true” benefit for us to carry it, and if the truth be told, we should have put it down, let it go, a long time ago! Amen My Bigmama would say “Baby, you can’t handle it by yourself; won’t you give it to the Lord and let Him!” For a long time, I’ve had some things, some folks that I have carried with me; no true benefit, but I “thought” change would come one day. So while it is now summer and while spring is normally the time we get rid of stuff that we don’t want nor need, it’s not too late! I have resolved today, to finally “throw away” everything that is “dead weight” in my life, especially the things that keep me from moving forward “completely” in Him, the folk that keep sucking life from me (you know the ones; always want to get, but never want to give). Hebrews 12: 1-2 says, ” Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, 2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.” I don’t know about you, but I’ve started my “Spring cleaning in the Summer”! Welcome to “Throw-Away-Thursday”!
