Welding Engineer - APLNG Project Welding Engineer | Generous $$$, Residential, Camp style accommodation, Free food Monday to Saturday – 7 AM to 4 PM 6 months contract role - 4 weeks on 1 week off Location: Gladstone, QLD You will report to: Engineering Manager As a Welding Engineer: APLNG Construction Project Team, link between Construction and other members of the project You ensure that construction requirements are made known to the project team in a timely manner Obtains construction responses to the needs of other members of the project team You are responsible for direct staff assistant to the Project Field Engineer You act as liaison between office entities and field construction for welding matters You are independent and have great judgment skills and utilise construction knowledge and experience in resolution of questions and problems which may arise. You will maintain strict adherence to welding program and project requirements to achieve quality standards Job Knowledge, you will bring the following qualifications: Minimum 7 years of experience as a Welding Field Engineer Extensive experience in welding operations in heavy industrial construction Extensive experience in welder qualification and welding program development, and operation Knowledge of construction activities as they relate to pipe engineering and construction, cost and scheduling, and contract administration. Computer literate in: Word processing, spreadsheet, database applications and the Teamworks welding module Basic Qualifications you will have are: Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) meets the requirements of ASNT-SNT-TC-1A Level II You are responsible for welding activities, such as the application of drawings, specifications, and subcontracts Preparation of quantity listings of field purchased material and equipment Initiates requisitions for field purchases, assists construction engineers and superintendents Interpreting design drawings, Coordinates with engineering design on constructability issues Monitoring equipment installation and planning for delivery of construction materials and equipment Assuring that proper warehousing and storage exists to ensure environmental protection You will review specifications, purchase orders, subcontracts, inspection reports, delivery schedules, instruction manuals and technical data Administers assigned subcontracts to ensure contract remains up to date in areas such as drawings, specifications to ensure compliance to code and project specifications.
