Well, Debbie and I made to Midland, Texas in plenty of time for my brother Les memorial service, which was well attended by family, church members and community representatives. The church was filled to overflowing, and was a wonderful tribute to a man who influenced his family, his church, his community, and his business community in incalculable ways. Then the ice storm took over. Many of us family members have had flights canceled and rescheduled, and cancelled again over the last several days. Right now Debbie and I are scheduled to go out Saturday morning at 6am. My sister-in-law Lanell has had over 40 relatives and other family members around since Monday night, and she and her boys have been graciously herding, feeding, transporting, and entertaining folks who are increasingly concerned about getting back to their homes. Today, a number of folks made it out of Midland on the first flights to fly in three days, and most of us will be out of her hair by Saturday. Thanks to LaNell and her boys and spouses for being so gracious and loving under these trying circumstances. We love you all, and were happy to get to know you all a little better, even though this was not the best of conditions. Well be praying for all of you over the next months when Les departure become more and more apparent in your lives. Just remember that your family loves you all, and well do what we can to help you through this difficult time. Hugs and kisses all around!
