Well I know the libs are going to cry voter suppression. However, IN had NO senate race, NO gubernatorial race, NO real contested congressional race, and who REALLY cares about a state auditor, treasurer, or SOS...unless you are looking for a job in one of those offices. and other than a couple state rep races in Lake Co, it was a real snoozer. No excitement at all. There was the political reality of Republican dominance and Democratic ineptitude. The GOP already held supermajorities in both chambers of the Statehouse, and that was certain to stay the same. In scores of races across the state, Democrats failed to field a candidate. “There were a couple of things at work, and they all conspired to pull turnout down, and they all worked together,” said Robert Dion, a political scientists at the University of Evansville. “There’s not one single factor.”
