Well, I went to my appointment today and saw Dr. Mikalian. He took more X-rays and gave me three options. I can have cortisone shots....already had them and they dont work!! I can have injections that will put a gel like filling between the bones and hes had great success with that. He said they usually last about 6 months, but I can have them whenever I need them. With the cortisone shots, I can only have one every three months. Or I can have the surgery, but may need another one in 10-15 years. Surgery would give me 100% relief as soon as its healed, but he wants me to give the injections a chance first. If Im still in severe pain in 6 months, well do the surgery. I would prefer the less invasive route, but Im not going to give it anymore than 6 months. Just keep me in your prayers for successful injections, please.
