Well I would have cast a vote for this guy today, but in the Free - TopicsExpress

Well I would have cast a vote for this guy today, but in the Free State of Maryland, I was unable to do so. After the last general election when I was renewing my drivers license, I was asked if I wanted to change my voter registration. I chose to become an unaffiliated registered voter in Maryland rather than be affiliated with the Democrat or Republican party because I tend to vote independently in the general elections and I am not enamored with the 2 major parties and dont want to be called one or the other. I am an American citizen, not a democrat or a republican or German-Slovakian-American. Just an American who wants his vote to count for something. But surprise, surprise! I went to my voting location today to vote in this primary but when I handed them my new registration card, I was told that in Maryland, unaffiliated voters cannot vote in the primaries! My son, however, as a registered Republican was able to and his ballot contained not only the republican candidates vying for their party nomination, but in the midst of them, were also Democrats he could vote for as well...seems to me this is not right. Unless, of course, you want nothing to change and are happy with the the way our current 2 sides of the same Big Government Party system is taking care of things.
