Well, another dear friend has been reunited with her recently departed husband. Jean Shepperd was a dear lady. She and her husband, Shep, were adopted grandparents for my son and daughter when we lived in New Orleans. They have always been dear friends even though I didnt see them as much after moving back to Arkansas. Their son, James, has also gone on to his heavenly home. James died in April, Shep died about 1 month ago, and Jean went to her heavenly home last night. It is hard to believe death comes in such a dramatic string. It isnt uncommon either. Thanks to James widow, I received this message today. I talked to our dear friend, Bro. Roger Richards, about Jeans death. Jean was a warrior for Christ and His work through her service at First Baptist Church, Kenner, LA, when I was youth minister there. Shep was the church treasurer. He was such a faithful servant during the years Bro. Richards was pastor. I know we all know individuals within the work of the Lord who quietly do their tasks without a lot of fanfare. Jean and Shep were that kind of leaders. I know they made a major impact on my life. God be with you, Shepperd family. Thank you for the love shown to me and my children.
