Well it doesnt get much bigger than the Bombers and the Blues. Carlton would like nothing better than to finish the year on a high by undermining Essendons finals campaign. The blues were thrashed last week and thrashed when these two teams met earlier in the year. They will be out for revenge. If the Bombers win they can finish no lower than seventh and can even climb to sixth if they thrash Carlton by a huge margin and North Melbourne is heavily beaten by the Demons. But if they lose, they can still qualify for finals if either Collingwood or Richmond loses, or if the Bombers maintain their superior percentage over either team. Essendon finish seventh unless Richmond beats the Swans or Collingwood thrashes Hawthorn. Another interesting scenario is the potential for Richmond and Port Adelaide to both win. If they do and the Bombers lose - then they may play an elimination final in Perth! In theory a loss could mean they miss out on finals action all together. However, they would have to lose by 10 goals; the Tigers beat Sydney; and the Magpies demolish Hawthorn by 100 points... It all adds up to a massive game against the old enemy.
