Well it took me more than 24 hours, but I finally completed the ALSA Ice Bucket Challenge! Honestly Id been wanting to be nominated because it looked like so much fun and its for such a worthy cause. I wanted to be a little different (and challenge myself) so I took the challenge at one of my favorite spots in San Diego - the top of Cowles Mountain! Since theres no running water or refrigeration up there I carried two 20 pound bags of ice and my blue community trash pickup bucket with me. I got lucky and met a nice couple that volunteered to do the videoing and ice bucket dumping. Thanks Mika and Angelica! :) Turns out a 5 gallon bucket only holds a little more than 10 pounds of ice so the extra 10 pounds of ice was left in the dog bowls for pooches that made it to the top. I had a great little workout and a blast getting iced! I nominated Martin Mathews, Selma Teer and my old buddy Angel Luo of the !Fun in San Diego! Meetup (meetup/FUNinSanDiego/) Hope I get to see their videos soon! Im including links for the two ALS videos Ive already shared because I think theyre that good. The first is heartbreaking and real youtu.be/h07OT8p8Oik and the second is an explanation of ALS youtu.be/tKDET9t8VTI.
