Well, people have told us that its a waste of time protesting outside the job centre, but we are clearly having some effect. Firstly, G4S sent 3 police officers to stand with us for the duration of our protest, as they said they felt threatened this is frankly ridiculous. 6 of us smiling and chatting to people, one of them informing people of facts, with a megaphone. Extremely Un-scary... Either they are doing that to bias people against our protest ooh they are costing taxpayers with all that policing,blah blah... you know the score... or G4S are not at all fit for purpose as security and are in fact scaredy wimps! I mean really... Then local councillors turned up for a meeting with the job centre (possibly the real reason for our police guard?) Afterwards The exec leader of the council turned up to chat to us, he indicated to us that the meeting was because of our demo. We indicated to him that our demo was to stop ordinary people from suffering. We will see what happens BUT... 6 people... had an effect...
