Well, since Thanksgiving weekend is over, I feel I will no longer be a downer by vocalizing my frustrating weekend issues! ... On Friday, It became clear my main computers at the studio were the target of a extreme computer virus that bribes you for thousands of dollars to return your newly encrypted (by the virus they unleashed) files. They shut all systems down and 75% of my computer was encrypted, and my computer, its start menu and all access was blocked. I must send a huge shoutout to Mike Pokorney at Tech-2-Go who took his Thanksgiving weekend plans, and scrapped them, to spend it reloading and revamping my main frame, and double checking all my backups to ensure all of my data was safe. (It was evident that they had spent many unfruitful attempts to hack into them as well!) A planned series of implemented stop gaps saved all of my information from deletion. Thank God for the time, and money we utilized to protect the valuable Gainsboro archives from the delinquent thieves that make their living from the misfortune they create for their targets. So other than having to upgrade and reload 100s of programs, no data has been lost. I would like to apologize now to any clients who may experience a slight delay due to this setback, but we are working well into the night still tonight to get it all back on track. We have purchased a secondary dedicated off-line computer to prevent any future issues...... Oh and then yesterday....I took two stairs at once and sprained an ankle.... and today had to replace an iphone that shut down after burning my hand from overheating!!!! ....OK so I have been predisasterized, so its all up from here! :-P ......of that...I am very thankful!! Please be aware that these hackers really are out there! Upgrade your antivirus programs, and protect your valuable memories and information!
