Well thats it I posted off my papers and my finishing date is April 15th 2015. I dont know if I am feeling so down about this because its not the end of my Service I was anticipating or because of the way it was done. I thought after almost 30 years service to Her Majesty I might have been taken care of somewhat. Anyway its now done what ever I feel about it, no golden handshake, no staff parade, no letter of thanks for the hard times early in my service or mention of my exemplary record of service, nothing! I pity those who I leave behind good honest hard working staff who deserve better than this. Never a more true word was spoken when Carol Slavin said you are only ever as good as your last shift how bloody true that is! Anyway I would like to say thanks to all the great Staff I have had the honor to work with standing shoulder to shoulder through some hard times and many many good times, staff of all ranks!! and to those few winkers who I had the misfortune to come across (they know who they are) I still have my list and I wont be forgetting or forgiving. Anyway Im now going to open a bottle of fizz and toast myself as I come to the end of my service and with the medication Im on the one glass should be more than enough :-)
