Went to Carlisle to see Ewan McLennan last night. Splendid evening: good, well chosen songs, immaculate guitar playing and good rapport with the audience. A very receptive audience, too. On the drive home I reflected on how lucky and priviledged Ive been to have worked with some outstanding musicians over the years and Ewan, and his fellow current crop of Fellsiders, is up there with the best of them. Work on his third album is due to start very soon.
