Went to see this tonight with Zoe down the Pier cinema - it was a very emotional experience - such a poignant and uplifting tale told with actually a very high degree of accuracy - my Great-Uncle Emrys who lived in Treherbert was always known to be gay - but still it was unspeakable - so my grandmother and the other respectables of that community used to say he has the theatre in his blood . . . thats why hes always down in London Well - I have to say I am proud of the valleys - tough drinking, hard men and very often a few months at least ( ;-) ) behind the leading edge of trends elsewhere, but when push comes to shove they do understand loyalty and community. I still remember how appallingly Thatchers politicised police force behaved on the picket lines - I was 17 and I saw it for myself with my own eyes . . . I was lucky enough by purest chance to wake up one day in my old much-loved motorhome The Great White Wheel in the ice-cream lay-by on the Rhigos mountain - I saw, again by purest chance the last march out from Tower Colliery when that project had run its course. A lot has changed for the better in adversity - I dont doubt that this will always be the way. I recommend this film - its personal and political - like everything that really matters. https://youtube/watch?v=vsFY0wHpR5o
