Were coming for you, City! Barcelona jet in for Champions League showdown... By Paul Collins 10:34 17 Feb 2014 Theyre here. Barcelona have touched down in Manchester ahead of their Champions League showdown with City on Tuesday night - and they look like they mean business. Lionel Messi and Gerard Pique stared down the cameraman as they walked through Manchester Airport en route to their team hotel and, a little later, training at the Etihad Stadium. Earlier, Cesc Fabregas had supplied their were on a plane Instagram snap on Monday morning as Barcelona flew in for their Champions League showdown with Manchester City. He posed with teammates Alex Song, Carles Puyol and Gerard Pique prior to take-off as the Spanish champions travelled to England for the hotly-anticipated last 16, first leg match at the Etihad. Decked out in red tracksuit tops, the quartet looked relaxed and confident - and with good reason. Barcelona enter the match off the back of a 6-0 thrashing of Rayo Vallecano on Saturday, a result that meant they kept pace with the Madrid sides at the La Liga summit. But they will encounter a Manchester City side also in good form, having knocked Chelsea out of the FA Cup at the weekend. And manager Manuel Pellegrini, who has plenty of experience of facing Barca, is confident City can give a good account of themselves. Its a good chance to show how good we are, he said. They have a lot of experience, they have a great team, they have the best player in the world but I think also we are a good team with good players. I dont have any fear about playing Barcelona because this team has got to continue to develop the mentality to play against important teams, whether thats in the last 16, the quarter-final. I hope we can win at home. Pellegrini has faced Barcelona 22 times as manager of Villarreal, Real Madrid and Malaga but his record is poor. Hes managed just four wins, drawing another four and losing 14 - a paltry win percentage of 18.2. City striker Stevan Jovetic, who scored against Chelsea on a rare start, said the gap between Barcelona and his team had narrowed. Barcelona have some players of advantage but it is small, he said. Barcelona have been the best team in the world for the past three or four years and have so many great players. But in out team we have so many good players. It is going to be a spectacular game. We need to be aggressive and the result, hopefully, will come. We believe we can win.
