Western Mass Hispanic Nurses Gala Held at Chez Josef AGAWAM, Mass. (WGGB) — The National Association of Hispanic Nurses promotes Hispanic nursing leadership through healthcare awareness. Saturday marked the one year anniversary for the Western Mass chapter. The organization started with six members and now has grown to 29. They are committed to improving the diverse healthcare needs of the area. “To recruit young nurses, licensed nurses at all levels, so the mentoring process is what we are known about for helping to bring registered nurses of different levels to be able to deliver that culturally sensitive care to the western mass communities,” says Ruth Amador, President of the NAHN Chapter. More than 100 people came to support the group. Funds raised at the NAHN-WMASS Annual Gala event were used to fund and grant scholarships to area Western Massachusetts students pursuing a career in nursing.
