What I experienced in Oman/what I realized after visiting Oman: 1. The Omani love juices, but the juices are always too sweet 2. I miss plain steamed vegetables 3. They love and curious about my haircut, I heard nice haircut ten times a day, requested to take a picture because of my haircut 3 times a day, asked whether my haircut related to some sort of religion, someone even stop their car on the road and say nice hair cut to me, and my haircut is always the first subject of conversation hahaha 4. Still havent seen an Asian tourist yet 5. Not sure is it because of the above 3 or 4.....I draw all the attention when I was walking through the traditional market, I could feel their heads and eyes move with me 5. I am a Japanese 6. I dont like Indian and Arabic food at all 7. The public transport sucks!! A 10 minutes taxi trip cost me 3 Riyals ($60 HKD) and when I bargained the taxi drivers just drove away, then I discovered (by luck) there is a minibus thing (without any sign) for the same trip , when I asked how much the driver said something I dont understand but point up 1 finger, therefore I guessed it means 1 Riyal, when I arrived I gave him a 1 Riyal and he asked me do I have 100 Baisa (=0.1 Riyal=2HKD), so 60 HKD versus 2 HKD for the same 10 minutes trip and I have already took the taxi 4 times.... 8. I hate bargaining 9. I love Omani dates and coffee!! 10. I am getting old.... 11. Its a very expensive place to visit..... 12. They got a lot of benefits/subsidies from the government including free education till college, free housing if u are not married when u get old (I probably need this) etc. 13. They rely on foreign workers, there are more Indian, Pakistani, Bangladesh people than Omani on the streets
