What I thought was a stomach virus turned out to be something life threatening. Today marks the Saturday two years ago when I was rushed to Mission Hospital by ambulance with a blood sugar of 1264. I was in DKA and in renal failure. I was in the hospital for five days and was diagnosed with type I diabetes. It has been a long and trying two years but I am healthy and have stable levels. I am 207lbs lighter and am still working on it. I pray for a cure everyday. I would not be here had it not been for Joshua , Stephanie , and Amber who were there at my house and saved my life. For those who do not know,type I diabetes is not something you get because you are too much sugar, you get it when your pancreas fails because of a virus. The symptoms are similar to that if a stomach virus, plus excessive urination and thirst that cannot be quenched. Dont let people or our government shame you because you have this disease. It is not your fault. It is their fault that they will not approve treatments proven to help and maybe cure is of this disease!
