What a day. Had to miss my step sons wedding because I have always had to work on Saturdays. When I got to work, my supervisor called me over to ask me why I didnt ask for the day off. I didnt know that a co-worker told her about the situation and why I didnt put in for leave. Apparently this office is more lenient but I had no idea. When I got out on the route I went through some sort of nail bed area and got a flat. Thankfully I was in a rural area and the street was a dead end. Also, because most everyone had already fled to the beach yesterday, I was able to get a tow truck to show up in like 20 minutes with a new tire. While waiting for the tow truck, I was provided a little amusement by the Sheriffs department. I was looking down at my cell phone and suddenly my truck started to rock. I looked up to see two deputies whizzing by me and pulling into a driveway just a few feet away. Moments later, their Sgt. showed up along with two unmarked cars. I remember thinking, Thank G-d I already delivered the mail there just minutes before, otherwise, I would have been part of their convoy. I was also hoping that if gun fire began to erupt, that I was far enough away to avoid getting hit. I really didnt want another flat tire after all. Plus, I didnt want the tow truck driver taking off on me before I could get a new tire put on. Boy am I glad that didnt happen. PHEW!
