What a day. I got a late start because I wanted it to warm up some. I took the door off the wood-burning stove and redid the gasket. I also went to my garden and harvested turnips greens and several turnips, along with rutabagas. Then, after cleaning my garden harvest, I cooked the greens with some pieces of cured ham, vinegar, sugar, water, and salt and cooked until tender. The rutabagas were cooked with water, salt, black pepper, white pepper, sugar, and butter. They also were slow cooked until tender, the old southern way. Supper was a feast!
