What a long night. Parker had his first tummy ache last night so he was a very unhappy little guy and just not sleeping soundly like he normally does. At about 4am he was wide awake and fussy so I finally brought him to bed with Vic and me. There is a song I made up that Ive been singing to him since I was about 3mos pregnant. So he was snuggled up with me but still kinda fussy and I started singing his song and he got the biggest smile on his face. Now, Im not baby stupid, I know it was gas or a reflex. I understand hes to little to actual respond in that way. But still it absolutely melted my heart. In that moment I realized every broken heart, every bad decision, every hard choice and all the hard work was worth that little smile. It all led me to this one place with the man I love sleeping beside me and our son in our home with our family. And nothing else in my life matters except where I am right now. Thank you God
