What a morning. While we were walking in the paddocks nearby Ted got off the lead and bolted over the nearest hill. For the next two hours I walked the back blocks and paddocks of my suburb, near the Murrumbidgee, looking for him and calling his name. I thought I had lost him to the woods when the phone call came. He must have doubled back, after a dam swim and running for an hour or so, and people a few streets away had him in their backyard. One very very tired dog, one very relieved, happy, ecstatic John.
