What a venue for State Football! Our boys of fall gave it all they had and our crowd was huge, somewhere in the 3500 range as all you could see on the west side was blue and gold. With two large student sections, our band, parents, grandparents, cousins, friends, community members and lots of alumni, all came out to watch our mighty Cougars take on the number one ranked team in the state. Two scoring records were broken tonight as New Palestine broke the single team scoring record with 77 points, but we jumped in with our 42, making it the highest combined scoring game in history in the 77-42 final. It was one exciting game with little or no dull moments. We clearly had our hands full with the high scoring offensive power of New Palestine, but they too struggled with stopping us. In fact, if it werent for a few physical and mental errors, they might not have completely stopped us. Whether you watched in person or from the TV at home or even streaming on the Internet, you should have no doubt our young men laid it all on the line with everything they had every single play and series. We should be so proud of them and their amazing coaching staff. They have had a tremendous run, a record breaking season, and accomplished more than anyone truly thought they would except for themselves. These young men and these coaches set their goals last spring and they accomplished all but one. Pretty amazing and a great lesson for all of us about hard work, dedication, commitment, passion and sacrifice. We want to thank our boys, their coaches and all of you for your support all season long. What a great ride and an amazing historical achievement! Safe travels to all! Go Cougars, This is Our House!
