What does sire line mean? Glad you asked. You may know how, in the Bible, how it says, Abraham begat someone who begat someone who begat someone, etc. Thats a sire line, father of, father of, etc. It ignores the many other ancestors, but it has become a standard way of tracing lineage. So here is the sire line of my horse, Union Station. If any of you have ridden a modern thoroughbred, the chances are overwhelming that you have ridden some of these same stallions, in the sense that you have ridden horses which would not exist had these stallions not existed as stallions. Because THIS is the mighty Northern Dancer sire line, from Phalaris, 101 years ago, directly down to the present. (You guys who have any interest in pedigree, feel free to copy any of this stuff)
