What happened in Gaza and the implications of Israels actions there must not be allowed to be forgotten in the wake of everything else going on in Israel right now. It is as if there are incessant diversionary tactics going on, all of which need to be taken into perspective in the big picture of these crimes against humanity. Former Israeli soldier, descendant of a holocaust survivor, Eran Efrati, in telling his story and talking about his experience in the IDF, and of what he learns about the massacre in Shujaiyya in the Gaza Strip, offers a set of windows to comprehend the magnitude of this outrage. His testimonies have been heard by the International War Crimes Russell Tribunal on Palestine, and his accounts echoed by human rights agencies like Amnesty International and others. What is absolutely mind-boggling here is that these accounts of systemic racism and violence by Israel are so pervasive, yet they continue with impunity as we speak, and the international community and the United States which effectively stands as the sole meaningful intercessor stands on the sidelines, are for all intents and purposes cheering them on, hailing these massacres and mass destruction of civilian populations, their homes and infrastructure as Israels right to self-defense.
