What has clearly emerged of late, especially in the wake of the Trayvon Martin verdict, is that the black American community in the USA is looking back towards Africa from where their ancestors were first captured from their homelands. It is now also clear that some of the intellectual thinkers within the black community in America, see in President Ernest Bai Koroma, a leader of great substance. The fact that he is President of Sierra Leone which country is now proven to actually be the bastion from where many ancestors were captured as slaves, has only added more shine to the growing attraction that black Americans seem to now have for Ernest Bai Koroma. I believe that great things are going to happen to strengthen the ties between Sierra Leone and the African American community in the United States. The motherland is calling out to her lost children in America and those children are hearing the echoes from the past growing ever so louder and louder; ringing in their ears - telling them that it is time to return home. Just stay tuned and watch as the spirits of the forefathers come into play... I am sure we will have some exciting news to report on shortly as the days go by.
