What the hell is wrong with my party ? Six years ago, this countrys banking industry took the world to the precipice of a massive depression...from which we still have not recovered. Jobs lost, pensions evaporated, lives ruined. As a consequence the American taxpayers were called upon to bail out the thieves who created this calamity and, in response, the Congress passed regulations that restricted banks from investing in the very financial instruments which created this disaster. One regulation was entitled Prohibition against Federal Government Bailout... Now Wall Street, led by Citibank , inserted into the Omnibus spending bill...without debate or hearings..a provision to repeal that very regulation ! My party, with a few notable exceptions ( Elizabeth Warren/ Sherrod Brown ) voted in favor of the bill. Its disgraceful and a slap in the face to hard working Americans who dont have the political muscle to get Congress to help them. Not only that, we are headed toward that financial cliff once again.
