Whats My Class? What class does Slavoj Zizek, (or Judith Butler, Jodi Dean, Alain Badiou, Noam Chomsky, Avital Ronell) actually occupy as I feel they would all deny occupying a specific class position and nomination. Dean even stated that there was no middle-class (and yet you cant get more middle-class than Dean) whilst Ronell was very upset when E.v. Elliott called her bourgeois to which Ronell responded by calling it a nineteenth century insult and then blocked him on Facebook. So class analysis is a very touchy sensitive area since these leftist-intellectuals do not like to see themselves as being a member of a class as they see themselves above such crude-base group nomination or classification or identification and this petty-bourgeois mindset of theirs is what Pierre Bourdieu defines as their unclassifiability — “a sort of dream of social flying, a desperate effort to defy the gravity of the social field” — and which is so aptly characteristic of Zizek, Badiou, Butler, Chomsky, Dean and Ronell. Thus we must have a conference on the class denialism of being a leftist intellectual and try to define what actual class all these so called leftist-intellectuals really belong to and present it as a TV panel game show like Whats My Line? only this would be called Whats My Class? with Zizek, Badiou, Butler, Chomsky, Dean, Ronell as the celebrity panelists being questioned and asked to disclose their salaries and profits.
