Whats interesting is that by peoples own admission, they understand that certain people in society have the right to situational ethics while others dont. Its OK for a cop to apply a chokehold (banned practice) if he sees it as a means to save his life, but its not OK for a person to sell untaxed cigarettes to make a buck or two. I think this is one of the many problems this country has. We are so obsessed with order, to the point where it doesnt even make sense. And in society, certain people (typically police, government and whites) are allowed to adjust their ethics to accommodate their situation while others (typically non-police, nongovernment and people of color) are not.
