When I Awake In Your Likeness Psalms 17:15 As for me, I will - TopicsExpress

When I Awake In Your Likeness Psalms 17:15 As for me, I will see Your face in righteousness; I shall be satisfied when I awake in Your likeness. One of the great joys of life is to have a new baby, and hear people exclaim, “He looks just like his daddy!” or “She looks just like her mommy!” Since we are all a mixture of the traits of both parents, thats not a surprise. An even greater joy would be to have someone look at us, and say, “You look just like your Father!” Since God said He created us in “our” image, referring to the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, we should look like Him. That image is distorted by sin, and the work of the Holy Spirit is to restore us to what God meant for us to be. Yeshua said that the pure in heart are blessed, because they will see God (Matthew 5:8). The pure in heart are those who walk in righteousness, those who live according to the standards that God has set for us. They do not live part of their lives for God, and the rest in the world. These are ones who are submitted to the Fathers will, whose thoughts and actions are controlled by the Holy Spirit who lives within. They are the ones who see the face of God. How is that possible? Can we really physically see His face here in this world? Whenever we see love and light in others, we see His face. Whenever we look in the mirror and see His presence shining back at us, we see His face. When He made us, He gave us a part of His own substance, and when He looks at us, through the blood of Yeshua, He literally sees an image of Himself. When this verse refers to awakening in His likeness, it could be referring to the experience of coming into His presence after death. It could also mean, though, that we awaken, or become suddenly aware, that we are now carrying His likeness in this life. That requires two steps: first, being able to see His face, or likeness; then seeing that image reflected in us. My hearts desire is to come to a point in this flesh when not only I, but others, can see “Christ living in me.” We can only see His face when we live in righteousness, through faith in Yeshua. To do that, we have to give up everything in ourselves that is not of Him—every thought, every motive, every attachment, every word spoken, every action taken. Everything we think we “own,” from money, to material goods, to family, to our very lives, all belongs to Him. I want everyone to know that I am my Fathers child. With that, I will be satisfied. Prayer: Daddy God, You made us to be just like You. Grant that we may so live our lives, in submission to Your will, that we will see Your likeness, or image, reflected in us, by the working of Your Holy Spirit. In Yeshuas name. Amen! Brenda K.
