When I was 18 in feb. my mom and dad took me out of school and I did homeschooling. I went back for two weeks one week for review the next for exams I passed and was accepting to Canadore for the journalism program> I put down $50.00 deposit on my tutition for Sept.. Then three days before July 31rst I did all my testing for the military. And on the 31rst sign up. Theys aid they would take me first for vechical tec. and then possibly radar operator. I did nto know it at the time but I had been diagnosised Schizpohernic and I thought the pill I had been taking Setalizine was a sleeping pill not a pill for mental illness. I was also flat footed. They wanted me and dad never told me the truth until afterwards. Dad and mom drove me to the bus terminal I rode from North Bay to Ottawa then I took a military plane to Greenwood and was bused from there to Cornwallis. We had the first two weeks confinement to barracks. There was two to a room. It was the year army navy and air force were combining their forces into one royal force or crest when all three forces became equal. They tossed my bed seven times one morning they were picking on me. The staff sergent told me to come talk to her when ever I need to talk but they picked on me. They threw garbage in my pail just before inspection. We were taking St. Johns Ambulance course how to remove people from building that were on fire. We had to run the track in so many times. We all had a kit bag. And our knapsacks were almost my weight minus 50 lbs. still carrying it up hill I dont remember what happened but I wound up in the base hospital. I was in the forces on base one month less a day and signed up for three. The commanding officer gave me an honorable discharge and told me I could come back anytime until I was 27 years old. They would take me back.
