When Western modern architecture meets Eastern ideas Chicago, - TopicsExpress

When Western modern architecture meets Eastern ideas Chicago, once known as a world capital of modern architecture, has a new design that is taking “modern” to new heights, courtesy of Chinese architect Ma Yansong. Ma is a 39-year-old architect from China who’s won international acclaim for museums in China and his curvaceous Absolute Towers outside of Toronto. Chicago’s new George Lucas Museum of Narrative Art, created by Ma Yansong, is located in a museum park beside Lake Michigan in the center of Chicago. The main building reminds onlookers of a white mountain that floats on the ground at the same time as it stretches to the sky. Ma said, “A museum is more about the emotional reaction to the time, to the content that’s showing in the museum. So we want to create a space that people can think. Think about the land, think about the sky.” Watch the video: https://youtube/watch?v=K8DjKJ0aOR0&list=PLt-M8o1W_GdSNvevLdZ-LuAjsEaZaTeqS
