When asked about lasers for the treatment of nail fungus, Dr. Saruk has always said that he cannot recommend them. The data supports his position. A recent NYTimes Blog, reports: Laser Nail Fungus Removal May Prove Ineffective. The New York Times (3/14) reports in its “Well” blog on laser treatments for nail fungus. The FDA approved the treatment four years ago. However, the blog cautions prospective patients: “in one of the best studies to date, published last year in The Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, researchers... found that laser treatments produced no improvements in patients with toenail fungus, even after five sessions.”
