When did my babies go from being children to adolescents/teenagers? It is going too fast... way too fast.. I just want to keep them next to me... so that I can keep them safe from everything... but I cant. I know that I cant. I read somewhere that having a child is like permanently wearing your heart outside of your body on your chest... exposed to a world of hurt. Truer words have never been written... So I am making this plea... Dear World, Please be kind to my babies... they just want to feel successful and included... I know that they must learn from their mistakes and lifes experiences... But, they also need your encouragement and acceptance... They are very bright, funny and even a bit sarcastic if you take the time to really get to know them... They may be quiet at first and seem withdrawn, but if you make the effort to include them, you will not regret it! You will see what I see... two strong souls who have so much to offer this world in the unique way that they see and do things. They may seem weak or uninterested when you first meet them... but trust me, they are astute, great judges of character and they intuitively know who has their best interest at heart... Word, I just ask that you please keep in mind that they are sweet and kind souls who have been through a lot in their short lives... so please take it easy on them. Thanks... Just another worried Mom...
