When i was about Six years old , I lived south of Augusta , Ill. and about a Quarter mile from McGee Creek , down an old dirt rd. There was a abandoned iron bridge crossing the creek and it had concrete abutments , the water was clear and on the north west corner there was a deeper water hole against the abutment and in this clear water was about fifty small sun fish , swimming around and the sun reflecting off them was gold , yellow , green , red and blue , this is the only place I ever seen this show of color . I often wonder if this is still being played out on sunny days , today, 70 years later.
