When my radio career ends someday, I will not look back and spit on what the industry has become or why it wasnt a fit for me anymore. I will look back on it and say Thank you. Thank you for giving me a career at 18 when many people dont have a clue what theyre going to do. Thank you for sticking with me during very hard times in my life, and giving me a creative outlet while you helped me raise four beautiful children. Yes, thank you, radio. Thank you, radio, for continuing to serve hundreds of millions with free content while all media are developing new ways to communicate with the current generation. Thanks for letting me be a part of that, all the way from our first CD player to the wildly sophisticated equipment coming to our studios within weeks. Thanks for letting me experience all of it, and have the thrill of so many intensely great days mixed with numerous others where I fall flat on my face. Yes, I expect someday I will be saying Thank you. I will not be the one who pretends no one in the market is as talented as I once might have been. I most certainly wont let a newspaper write my epitaph, and poorly, while Im still alive. And thank you for my coworkers of nearly 17 years. I truly love them. Thank you, radio. You have treated me most kindly, and I appreciate you.
