When people fall for the premise that there are too many people - TopicsExpress

When people fall for the premise that there are too many people getting welfare that are just too lazy to work, they dont realize that the numbers supporting these asinine arguments likely contain your parents and grandparents if they are collecting social security and are just too lazy to hold down a job. Yes, there was a time when people who were collecting SS had not paid in sufficient amounts to justify their benefits, that was what we accepted when Social Security was adopted. Those days are long gone. Those beginning to receive their benefits paid into the system their whole working lives and whats more their employers also paid in amounts in their names. Had Congress not treated Social Security funds as a piggy bank they could raid without having to pay it back, there would be more than enough to fund SS well into the future. Now, instead of returning the funds theyve stolen, they want to cut the benefits of the elderly and con you into going along with it by labeling it entitlement. Theyve earned it and theyre not too lazy to work, theyve worked all of their lives and they dont deserve to be treated this way. Balancing your budget on the backs of the elderly and inferm is a reflection of as poor a character as you can muster. Shame on you for thinking this way of your elders.
