When some people think of the word SELF they immediately think of selfish. Some people are selfish, but thats not the SELF Im talking about. Ive listed a few things about the word SELF. There are some wonderful qualities that each of us should possess. SELF love. Love yourself, God has made you special. So many have a problem with loving themselves. Really, before you can truly love someone else, its important to love yourself. No matter how old you are or how low you feel about you, its never too late! No matter how many people have made you feel like you dont deserve to love yourself, its never too late! An excellent way to begin to love yourself is to do something loving for you. When you treat yourself with kindness, it makes you feel good. The more you feel good, the more you want to treat yourself with kindness. SELF Respect. If you really respect yourself, youll act differently. You will have respect for yourself, your character and your conduct. Those who dont respect themselves, also have a hard time respecting anyone else. SELF Esteem. This is your overall opinion of yourself — how you feel about your abilities and limitations. When you have healthy self-esteem, you feel good about yourself and see yourself as deserving the respect of others. When you have low self-esteem, you put little value on your opinions and ideas. You might constantly worry that you arent good enough. SELF worth. Self worth is the opinion you have about yourself and the value you place on yourself. An example of self worth is your belief that you are a good person who deserves good things or your belief that you are a bad person who deserves bad things. Remember, God doesnt make make junk. You were created in His image, so that makes you very unique. Self Love, Self Respect, Self Esteem and Self Worth. These qualities belong to you. You cant find them in anyone else, thats why they all begin with SELF.
