When they say fame is fickle, they arent kidding.......This woman was once a household name, and yet if you do a Google search, you wont come up with an entry citing her death yesterday at age 90. She did some dumb things in her later years that destroyed her reputation, and now its as if she never existed. It would probably just be a blip on the radar for me, too, except for that fact that I knew her at one time. My late Dad and Ms. Myerson were both NYC government officials at the same time, and they became friends. She was a dinner guest at our house on a number of occasions. She was quite charming and funny. But once my family left New York, hubris reared its ugly head, and the one-time Miss America (and the first Jewish Miss America), former game-show regular, and public official was put on trial for political corruption and that was it for her. What a pity. R.I.P., Bess Myerson.
