“When you pass through fire, you will not be burnt; the hard - TopicsExpress

“When you pass through fire, you will not be burnt; the hard trials that come will not hurt you”. Isaiah 43:2. None of us wants trouble. We think it is a bad thing, that “we need this like we need a hole in the head”. When the Babylonian army conquered Jerusalem they had set fire to it. It is quite possible that some of the exiles in Babylon had seen their homes burnt to the ground. The promise of God was that their trials would not hurt them. In fact very often trials have the effect of purifying, strengthening and maturing you. A man had a beautiful piece of timber given to him. It had a magnificent grain on it. The friends said that the tree from which it came had a soft bark. When the winds blew, the sands struck against the soft bark and made the beautiful grain of the tree. Beauty is always the result of struggle. Christ earned salvation for us by suffering on a cross. PRAYER: Lord, help me to grow through the trials I have to face.
