Where is the Kumul jumper going to now???, I grew up worshiping - TopicsExpress

Where is the Kumul jumper going to now???, I grew up worshiping the Gold, red and black jumper in yesteryears, wow the first time I got one from my younger brother when he debuted for the kumuls 8 years ago, that was so precious to me finer than most rare gems which I framed and set it up so high in the lounge room so everyone who walked in can see it. In recent times, Chinese shops and their remakes had cheapened the value but more so I strongly feel the custodians (administrators of Rugby League) of the jumper as let its true meaning down. The very people who were honoured to defend the rarity of the jumper has swiped it under the table as if it’s just another shirt hanging in your closet. So just because you in Intrust cup , Jim Beam Cup, NRL and have some sort of linkage to PNG (you father born here/You great grand linkage??) you can just take a walk to the park and the kumul jumper is there ironed tailored and hanging there for you...mmmmm...so what about that kid who grew up all these years hanging on tree tops and singing the national anthem half wobbly whether to shout really high might have him free fall for 100m and in disregard for his life but only to see the Gold, red and black in action, only to squeeze right into crowd despite being stampede by other youthful enthusiastic and strong peers JUST TO TOUCH the hands of their kumul heros,,what about them?? you gave them, SP CUP, ZONES now Digicel Cup and when they finally make it, you slap them across face just to hand the jersey someone who cant even sing the national anthem nor value the significance of the Kumul jumper (the only thing the units PNG as one),,WOW,,thats why its doesnt mean a thing to swap the jumper we pride to something else,,Well some of my esteemed colleagues might argue that we need exposure of these young lads and cordial that with our development squad and Hunters is way forward, and I totally concur,,but what about these young guys home breed PNGeans who dream and live rugby league, would you say the same to them?? I look at the recent article of young Johnston and McDonald and wander how that would feel if a young lad here be given the same oportnity to pull on the kumul jumper, Im sure in a million years he wouldnt give it away,,I can only admire and adore Adrian Lam when he captain QLD maroons to clean sweep in 1995 was asked to captain the Kangaroos against NZ but he declined because he is the current kumul captain,,his coaching has come under scrutiny lately but no one can question his honour and pride for the KUMUL jumper,,,LONG LIVE PNG KUMULS,,,with you all the way,,our time to conquer and conquest will come, I Hope the custodians see it the way rest of PNG FEELS.
