Where oh Where oh Where IS Jackson? By Caroline Brasfield-Carter — 6 hours ago Every time we come to the hospital Keenan and Elly Moon are headed to school or being cared for on the weekends. We have been here for diagnosis, biopsy, bone xray, CT scan, EKG, lab work, chemo and clinic. Each time it has only been me, Jackson and Carter on these venture and Keenan and Elly Moon have not come to visit him. Today Jackson really rallied and woke up feeling good. He still is not interested in eating but over all feeling good. They say that a lot of chemo patience can really psych themselves out and get nausea at the drop of a hat (Jacksons chemo was red the first time so seeing a red shirt could trigger nausea, hearing a food he had the night before he got sick can trigger nausea and even the mere thought of Jackson getting sick can make him sick.) He just now today has had a bout with nausea but once the room got quiet he settled down. Grandma Joni brought Keenan and Elly Moon down to the hospital and brought lunch for us to all enjoy together. They LOVED seeing where Jackson sleeps, what he watches on TV, the bathroom he uses (oh yes- this is very important to a 4 and 7 year old). They wanted to see how the bed moved up and down and where mom and dad slept (if you can call it that.) After we ate, Jackson led Elly Moon and Keenan on a tour of 7 South. We headed straight to the east side of the building where the windows look out over St. Petersburg Harborside, USF campus and Albert Whitted Airport. From there he took them to the game room where he and Keenan played air hockey and Carter and Elly Moon played a virtual game of miniature golf. It was a little too much standing on his feet because Jackson became a bit weak and needed to sit for a little while. He is now back in his room where he and I are going to catch up on Friday nights Jimmy Fallon! His counts keep getting lower for methotrexate so this is great. We should be home on Tuesday (just to turn around and do it all over again on Friday.)
