While I was shooting the lighting of the Carlsbad sign I tried my first ever time lapse! I must say that there is an entirely different set of parameters to keep track of and my 1st attempt earlier in the evening was a dud. So I tried a 2nd time after canceling the 1st time lapse. When I got my exposure set the camera asked me if I wanted to restart the time lapse, I took this to mean start all over from zero. What it actually meant was restart from where it left off. Not knowing this I restarted and only ended up with half of the shots I wanted so the whole thing is only about 20 sec long. It also ended before the sign was lit, I was really hoping the closing shots would be of the sign lit up. Oh well, not great for my first try but not bad either. When I have more time I might go back and play around more with my editing as it feels a bit over processed to me but for now here a short 15 second glimpse. Ill post the full uncropped version on my FB page later today. #california #californiacoast #welovecalifornia #carlsbad #carlsbadsign #carlsbadcoast #carlsbadvillage #carlsbadphotographer #sunset #history #highway101 #timelapse #nikon #d300 #fluxphoto #fluxphotography #learningnewthings
